2018/09/22-29 Flame Shells Loch Broom

During the September 2018 survey week we visited Loch Broom and dived the flame shell site – confirming for the first time that there were horse mussels still in the flame shell bed area. Despite historic records of these horse mussel beds in the area the SNH / Nature Scot surveys had not confirmed this in their more recent surveys documenting the flame shell site.
